Thoughts about how chaotic life can get, how hard it is to keep up, and how our partners, parents (or even children) can get on our nerves sometimes. And just to be clear—there is nothing wrong with having these kinds of thoughts. They simply mean we’re human. That something happened that feels overwhelming or triggered some emotions.
By letting them out, we create space to understand and rewrite our emotions, to recognize how silly they might actually sound, and to remind ourselves that we don’t really mean them the way they sometimes feel.
If we keep these thoughts bottled up—thinking they’re not normal (they totally are!) and that we must be crazy for having them—we only increase our guilt instead of understanding the emotions behind them.
